Humana’s Plan K Medicare Supplement Insurance plan helps people that don’t have much money set aside for a monthly premium. An out-of-pocket limit exists if you have a large injury or illness, but otherwise you pay percentages of your coverage instead of paying all of your costs. Some highlights of the plan are below, note that when you reach the cap for the plan you are covered at 100%:

• Coverage for 365 days after Medicare Part A hospitalization coverage ends and this is at 100%.

• When hospice services are needed you will pay 50% of the out-of-pocket costs.

• Instead of the normal basic benefit of the first three pints of blood you will pay for 50% of the Medicare expenses.

• Preventive care services are paid at 100% under Medicare Part B, but the other coinsurance under this part is 50%.

• If you need skilled nursing facility care you will be covered at 50%.

• You still have to come up with a good amount of money, but your Medicare Part A deductible is covered at 50%, saving you more than basic Medicare coverage.

• $4,620 out-of-pocket annual limit (The out-of-pocket annual limit will increase each year for inflation), meaning after you spend this amount everything is covered at 100%.
