I will be 65 in October 2009. I will not be able to retire for at least 2 years after that however. I have some health insurance coverage through my employer which I assume will continue until I retire. Am I supposed to go ahead and apply for Medicare before I turn 65 ?

I would like to know if I'm eligible for any health benefit. I'm 19 years old and I work full time. I just moved out of my parent's house last year and I'm currently living in an apartment with a roomate. I cannot afford to pay for health insurance and would like to know if I'm eligible. I have a history of anxiety and stress problems that I need to take care of and I also need to see a specialist in sinus problems because I keep getting severe sinus and throat infections every month and it keeps getting worse. I might also have something wrong with my ears because I get the feeling I get ear infections because of the severe pain and swelling but I have not been able to see a doctor on that either. I will be starting college next semester but I don't know if it will be full time or part time, it depends on wether I get some sort of economic support or if I get the FAFSA.

I am turning 65 in August 2009. I am a naturalized citizen but I have never worked in the U.S. In addition, I am getting SSI and Medicaid. Am I eligible for Medicare at no-cost? If yes, what plan should I enroll into?
Please HELP.
Thanking you in advance.

I'm pregnant but my husband got deported. I work but do not get any benefits, have insurance, and don't make enough to pay doctor visits. To be honest, I've never even been to doctor but I want one for my child. Where do I start?

In January 2010 my wife will be 65. I am retired military and we are Tricare eligible. I carried forward my BC/BS FEHB coverage when I retired from Civil Service. When she turns 65 and becomes Medicare eligible I am thinking about cancelling my BC/BS plan. This would mean a $400.00 per monjth saving. Is there a hazard in doing this? Is there anything, other than prescription drugs, that Medicare/Tricare would not cover? Thank you very much. Ron Pool

We have recently immigrated to USA and have got our green cards. We are visiting Social Security office for our Social Security card. We have never worked in USA. We both are 65+. What benefits we are eligible for such as Medicare, Medicade, or Supplimentary Social security or any old age pension now or later. We are living with our daughter who had filed affidavit of support as our sponsor.

Hi there, my father will be 61 this year and is living in FL. He has been 100% disabled as of May 2007. He did not start receiving any SSI benefits until Dec of 2008, and was told that he would be able to have medicare in May of 2007. He desperatley needs expensive medications and breathing treatments, oxygen tanks among other things that he and my mother just can not afford. Now he is being told that he wont qualify for benefits until Dec 2008 because that is when he received his first SSI payment.. how can this be??? He is sick, and has no quality of life without the medications and other things... is there any way to find out how to get him on medicare now???? if anyone knows anything that may help me please let me know. Thank you for your time!

I will be 65 on July 9, 2009. I am still employed full time and have health insurance on my job. I understand that I only have to sign up for the part of Medicare (A or B) which does not have a premium attached since 90 % of my medical costs are taken care of by United Healthcare PPO. Is this correct?

My prescripltion plan is Medco.

Since I am still covered by a Health Plan and a Prescription plan what part of Medicare should I enroll in?

Given that I am insured through my job, what part will Medicare play whenever I have to see a doctor, or be hospitalized?

I work as a case manager for Ryan White programs. There is a short form that can be used by eligibility workers when it is obvious that applicants are NOT eligible for Medicaid (ex. overincome, undocumented residents, etc.) Could you please send me this form.

Thank you
