Medicare and Home Health Coverage: Providing Healthcare at the Comforts of Your Home
As a person who is under Medicare, you will see that this will be able to provide you with a lot of health benefits. If you are over 65, you will automatically be qualified for Medicare and the different types of health plan it offers.
Now, if you need constant care, you know that you cannot stay at the hospital. If you qualify, you will be able to take advantage of the Medicare Home Health Care Coverage. Here, you will be able to get medical social services, home health aide services, skilled nursing services, skilled therapy services, and even on medical supplies.
On skilled nursing home and health aid services, Medicare will be able to over up to a total of 35 hours per week. You can also get additional hours for medical social and skilled therapy services. Basically, the amount of care that is allowed does not really depend on Medicare. It will depend on the recommendation of your attending physician and is also based on your current health status.
Most of the healthcare services and supplies needed are fully covered by Medicare. However, DME or Durable Medical Equipments that you need, such as wheelchairs, is only covered at 80 percent. The remaining 20 percent can be paid by supplemental insurance, or it can be paid by you.
The great thing about Medicare and Home Healthcare Coverage is that you will be covered as long as you continue to qualify. These are the things that you need to know about Medicare and their Home Healthcare plan.
