What Coverage Does Michigan Medicaid Have for Pregnant Women and Infants?

When you are on Michigan Medicaid there will be several options to help you during your pregnancy until your baby arrives.  You may also qualify for Maternal Support Services (MSS) and Infant Support Services (ISS) to help you during your pregnancy and after your baby is born.  If you do happen to qualify for this program there are a few services that you should know about.

Service Includes:

*Transportation to doctor visits when you are otherwise unable to transport yourself.  This is a great benefit offered to make sure you are getting regular checkups for you and the baby.

*Classes on child birth because nobody knows everything about having a baby the first time.  Take advantage of these courses and learn everything you possibly can.

*Classes on baby care to make sure that you understand what is expected of you before, during and after delivery.

*Help in getting food and learning to make healthy, well-balanced meals so that your baby is getting the necessary nutrition.

*Help with personal problems that make it hard for you to take care of yourself while pregnant, this could be for emotional, financial or other issues.  Take advantage of help like this to try to make sure your baby is born in to a happy situation.
