I am all for helping those that actually need it. I have a niece that is perfectly capable of working but don't, gets a support check, and unemployment benefits. Her children live with her mother. My husband and I live on 1 check a month and I have no health insurance because we just plain cannot afford it for me. I am 58 and my husband is 64. I would like someone to give me free health insurance too!! What about us older folks getting help istead of the "lazy" young ones?

I was trying to find some way to get some form of insurance. I am a 19 year old working college student. I dont make that much and I have been having financial issues for a while now because I live with my boyfriend who just got a new job after being unemployed for 6 months. I was on my mothers insurance up until about a month ago because her insurance rates went up so high she can only afford to keep herself insured. I really dont think I can afford to pay for anything else and someone I worked with suggested medicaid

why does it take 4 months for my husband to get medicaid when he is termonialy ill and with hospice this has been a hardship for him and myself cause i am taking care of him my self.we applied back in march 2007 and we still dont know nothing

It took me 10 months to get Medicaid albeit I had to secure the help from Indiana Legal Services to obtain it and still a day late and a few dollars short. Because it took too long I now suffer permenant nerve damage because of the wait. So yes, the medical and legal communities let me down as my house was foreclosed upon and I now live in a 2 room apartment (far cry from 1500 sq. ft. 3 bedroom home). Yeah, I love this country too.

I have a 13 year old who was dignosed with thyroid disease. My husband makes pretty good income however he has a $250.00.00 in student loan which he pays every month. After tax, after paying all the necessary bills like water , car insurance, etc. we have about $2,000.00 dollar left to eat and pay miscellaneous bills for family of six. We have a health insurance through his work but with $5,000 deductible. To buy other insurance, for our family it will cost $1,800 a month. Is there any way I can enroll my children in Hoosier Health Wise insurance? Thank you for your response.

My mother just was diagnose with pancreatic cancer medicare will cover 80% OF HER expense, now, the clinic said after medicare cover their portion a $6,000.00 this is $512.00 /treatment, the bill will be due 12 weeks after treatment. Our Famliy have been told to apply for medicaid.

Income with mom and dad approx: 2,100-2,300 monthly my dad is a diabetic and he also need insulan shot which cost.

Is thier any possiblilty that my mom would qualify for medicaid because of the cost of her medication in case her income exceeds the guidelines for medicaid.

We still have not including her chemo bills, which are approx. 200.00/month after her discount 80% discount from medicare.

Where is the compassion and care for the elderly after they have paid through the nose all their life.

CAN ANYONE OFFER SOME SUGGESTION PLEASE?
                                                                       Thankyou!

I am trying to find the income limits for a friend of mine. she is going to make about $400 per month and gets some child support for her 3 year old. She was told that the program was going to be underfunded because of the economy. Can you address this issue and give me income limits.

thank you

My post has been deleted. Is there a need to furnish SSNs in the medicaid application of all family members of the applicant if they are not availing of any programs? Only the applicant is availing of "Health Coverage". A reply will be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

My mom (72 yrs) is an Indiana resident and is not eligible for Medicare. I see that she can apply for Medicaid as she has no income. But, the application asks for SSNs and DOB of family members (my wife, children and myself) in her Medicaid application. Will this infomation go in Public records? I don't mind my mom's. But, I don't want mine or my family's going into public records.
Thanks...

I just found out that I am pregnant. My husband and i make about 34,000 a year. He also has two kids which are with us from Thursday to Monday every other week and the week in between we get them on Thursday nights. He pays $164 a month is support. Will we qualify for medicaid?

I HAVE A QUESTION. I HAVE JUST BEEN REFERRED A 17 YEAR OLD CLIENT. HIS MOTHER IS ON MEDICAID AND HAS HAD TWO MAJOR SURGERIES, ONE IN NOVEMBER AND ONE IN DECEMBER. HER MEDICAL BILLS ARE IN EXCESS OF $100,000. HIS MOTHER WOULD LIKE TO OBTAIN A JOB, SO THAT SHE CAN FIND A PLACE OF HER OWN. HOWEVER, SHE IS WORRIED ABOUT LOSING HER BENEFITS, BECAUSE SHE SEES THE DOCTOR WEEKLY FOR HER MEDICAL PROBLEMS. WILL SHE IN FACT LOSE HER BENEFITS IF SHE STARTS WORKING?

I am now 35 weeks pregnant, I applied for medicade as soon as I found out which gay in May 2008. I continuosly checked my case status and made sure everything they needed was turned in. After calling several times and getting different information from a new person each time I called, I was told in Oct2008 that I had been denied for making too much money, I didn't even have a job, I had no income, this made no sense to me.They sent me no notice or paper work explaining why or anything. When I asked them how could I make too much money with no income, noone could explain. I am now 35 weeks pregnant with no way of paying for my prenatel care or soon to be hospital bills. I have since reapplied and have yet to have any progress, what am I to do?
