Medicaid Whistle-Blower Law Goes Into Effect Jan. 1



A new law goes into effect next week that will require many health care companies and nursing homes to educate their employees for how to look out for fraud and abuse of the Medicaid system.

All health care facilities and clinics that do at least $5 million per year in Medicaid billing will be required to conduct training classes for their employees. Employees will be commended, and possibly rewarded, by the federal government for reporting abuse and fraud.
