Washington Medicaid: Find Out About Medicaid in Washington

If you are uninsured and cannot afford your medical expenses, you may be eligible for Medicaid coverage. Washington Medicaid is a federal and state program administered by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. There are a variety of programs available for groups who qualify. Eligibility requirements vary from group to group. Children are a commonly covered group. Some children will qualify for Medicaid if their family meets certain income requirements. Other children who do not qualify for Medicaid but still need health coverage may be eligible for the CHIP or Children’s Health Insurance Program. CHIP is a program for kids who are not eligible for Medicaid but cannot get other health insurance. There is a small monthly premium for this program.
